I miss working online! Why haven’t I been working online lately? I’ve been moving! We bought a house and I have been busily packing up all our stuff and moving it to the new house. Moving is such a MESS! Our new house is only a few miles away from our old house, so I have been making trips back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, with my mini-van packed to the gills with all of our crap!
I keep asking myself “Why do we have so much stuff?” And it’s the stuff that you barely use that is the most frustrating to move. Because you don’t want to get rid of it because you know as soon as you do, you’ll want it or need it. But you only use it occasionally, so it’s stuck in the back of the closet or buried in the garage. We live in Arizona, where no one has basements, so our garage becomes a big storage area. We have cabinets in the garage, both in the house we are moving from, and also the house we are moving to. So there seems to be a lot stashed in there.
And of course, once you get everything over to the new house, you have to find a place to put everything. As you can see from the picture, I just brought over a bunch of stuff and set it down on the dining room table. It’s waiting to find a place to be put away.
Since I’ve been busy moving, I haven’t been doing anything online. And for a few days I didn’t have any internet or TV, as everything was getting switched from one house to another. But now my internet is back up, and I’ve only checked in on my commissions a few times in the past week or so.
I was happy to see that I made $44.46 just from my Amazon affiliate links two days ago, and another $25.61 yesterday. That’s a good example of the type of “passive income” I am striving to create with my various Squidoo lenses and websites. Yes, they take work to set up and also to maintain. But when I have periods of time, like the last few weeks, where I have literally done nothing work-wise, I am still making money. Unlike if I had an hourly job where I had to clock in and only got paid when I was physically there doing the work. My websites work for me 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Yes, it takes work to set them up and to write the articles or website content. But once that content is written, it is online for people to find 24/7. They can click on one of my links and make a purchase any time of the day. I don’t have to be physically present like I would if I were selling products in a physical store that I owned.
I am looking forward to getting settled into our new home. Although I wish all the boxes would get unpacked and put away themselves!
And I’m really looking forward to getting back into the swing of things with my online work! I miss writing, researching topics and keywords, and talking to everyone online!
